Get ready to enjoy the beautiful Jemez mountains! We’re thrilled to announce that Jemez Falls Campground is now available for reservations, starting August 1st! After necessary construction, this popular campground is once again open, just in time for you to plan your late summer and early fall getaways. Secure your spot and make your reservations through recreation.gov.
The Santa Fe National Forest is actively engaged in its construction season, with the Jemez Ranger District undertaking vital pavement preservation projects. These efforts are crucial, as many of our beloved recreation sites haven’t received pavement maintenance since the 1990s. The goal is clear: to enhance visitor safety and ensure continued access to these cherished areas.
“These ongoing projects aim to ensure safe access for those who enjoy recreation in this area,” explains Jeremy Golston, the Jemez District Ranger. “We’ll keep the public updated as soon as possible when recreation sites are planned to reopen and will provide information on any delays.”
