We’ve recently implemented some important network updates on JemezVillage.com to enhance your Browse experience, improve security, and prepare for exciting new features. However, for some of our loyal visitors who frequented the site prior to these changes, you might encounter a minor technical hiccup: certain interactive elements, particularly the “Sign Up” buttons, may not appear to be working as expected.
This isn’t a bug with the site itself, but rather a common occurrence after significant website updates. Your web browser, in an effort to load pages faster, stores a temporary copy of our website’s data in what’s called a “cache.” If you visited JemezVillage.com before our network update, your browser might still be trying to use an outdated version of our site’s files. This can prevent newer functionalities, like our sign-up forms, from loading correctly.
The good news is, there’s a simple fix!
Most of these issues can be resolved by performing one of the following actions:
- Flush Your Browser’s Local Cache: This tells your browser to discard its old, stored version of JemezVillage.com and download the fresh, updated files. The process varies slightly depending on your browser:
- Chrome: Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear Browse data. Select “Cached images and files” and “Cookies and other site data,” then click “Clear data.”
- Firefox: Go to History > Clear Recent History. Select “Cache” and “Cookies,” then click “Clear Now.”
- Safari (Mac): Go to Safari > Clear History. Choose “all history” from the dropdown, then click “Clear History.” You can also go to Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data, search for JemezVillage.com, and remove its data.
- Edge: Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Choose what to clear. Select “Cached images and files” and “Cookies and other site data,” then click “Clear now.”
- Use Incognito/Private Browse Mode: Opening JemezVillage.com in an incognito (Chrome) or private (Firefox, Safari, Edge) window forces your browser to load the site without using any stored cache or cookies. This is a great way to test if the issue is indeed related to your local cache.
After clearing your cache or visiting in incognito mode, the “Sign Up” buttons and all other site functionalities should work perfectly.
We apologize for any temporary inconvenience this might cause. Our goal is to provide a seamless and informative experience for everyone in the Jemez Valley.
