Getting your online storefront ready on JemezVillage.com is the first step toward reaching our local community and beyond. This guide will walk you through the essential “behind-the-scenes” settings to ensure your shop looks professional and functions smoothly.
Part 1: Basic Store Setup
Before you list your first product, you need to configure your shop’s identity and contact information.
After you have filled in these details, always remember to scroll to the very bottom of the page and click Update Settings. You should see a confirmation message that your settings have been saved successfully.

1. Accessing Your Settings
Once you are logged into your account, look at the sidebar on the left side of your dashboard.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the menu and click on Settings.
- By default, this will take you to the Store tab. This is where the core information about your business lives.

2. Branding Your Shop
Your visual identity helps neighbors recognize your brand.
- Store Banner: Click the “Upload Banner” button. This is the large image that sits at the top of your shop page. A high-quality photo of your products or your physical storefront works best.
- Profile Picture: Click the “Upload Photo” icon. This is usually your business logo or a friendly headshot. It appears in search results and on your store’s sidebar.

3. Store Information
Fill out the following fields to help customers find and contact you:
- Store Name: Ensure this is exactly how you want your business name to appear.
- Store Categories: Select the categories that best describe what you sell.
- Store Address: While you can choose to hide your specific street address from the public, entering your city and state helps with local search and tax calculations.
- Phone Number: As seen on your dashboard notice, adding your phone number is a key step to completing your profile progress.

4. Setting Your Store Location
Even if you don’t have a physical walk-in shop, setting a location helps with local search visibility. Set it to a central public location if you do not wish to use your home location. A place you may want to meet them. Do not use other local business locations unless you have prior approval.
- Map Search: In the Map field, type your city or specific address.
- Pin Drop: The map will automatically center on the address provided (e.g., Jemez Springs, NM). You can use the Satellite or Map view to ensure the red pin is exactly where it needs to be. Click on the map to move the pin. Hold CTL+scroll to zoom in and out or use 2 fingers on mobile devices.

5. Terms and Conditions (TOC)
Defining your shop’s rules helps prevent misunderstandings regarding returns or service expectations.
- Enable Policies: Check the box for Show terms and conditions in store page to make your policies public.
- TOC Details: Use the text editor in the TOC Details section to write out your shop’s specific rules.
- Tip: Include information about your return policy, estimated processing times, and any specific community guidelines you follow.
- Use the formatting bar (bold, lists, etc.) to make these terms easy for customers to read.

6. Configuring Your Store Schedule
Let customers know when you are available to fulfill orders or respond to inquiries.
- Enable Schedule: Check the box next to Store has open close time to activate this feature.
- Setting Daily Hours: * Use the toggle switch next to each day to mark it as Open or Closed.
- For open days, enter your start and end times (e.g., 9:00 am – 12:00 pm).
- Adding Mid-Day Breaks: If you close for lunch, click Add hours to create a second time block for the same day (e.g., 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm).
- Custom Notices: You can customize the Store Open Notice and Store Close Notice fields to show specific messages to customers when they visit your page during those times.

7. Implementing Storewide Discounts
If you want to run a promotion for all your products at once, use the Discount section.
- Enable Discount: Check the box Enable storewide discount.
- Minimum Order Amount: Enter the dollar amount a customer must spend to qualify for the discount.
- Percentage: Enter the discount amount (e.g., enter “10” for a 10% discount).

8. Crafting Your Bio
Scroll down to the Biography or Description section.
- This is your chance to tell the story of your business. Mention how long you’ve been in the Jemez area, what makes your products unique, and your commitment to the community.
- Tip: Keep it concise but warm. Customers love buying from people they feel they know.

9. Customer Support
Make it easy for neighbors to ask questions.
- Enable Support: Check the boxes to show a support button on your main store page and on individual product pages.
- Customize Text: In the Support Button text field, you can type a custom call to action like “Ask a Question” or “Get Support”.

⚠️ Important: Save Your Progress
Your changes will not be live until you save them. Once you have finished filling out all these sections, scroll to the very bottom of the page and click the Update Settings button.
